Motorola Does Offer Full Front Keypad Programing on the R7... IT is available in every Region around the Globe.. HOWEVER -- That does not meant the Front Keypad Programming is UNLOCKED - Just because it may have firmware loaded from another region.... That does not mean it is Fully Unlocked and will stay that way permanently.

If someone says that they can offer it - Ask them to show you pictures or Videos of the person entering or changing. FREQUENCY, CTCSS Tone or DCS. Change or ADD the Frequency, Change the Color-Code, Modify the Repeater Slot.

And maybe even CLONE or COPY existing Zones, or Channels - and then Modifying them - Not FROM a cable connected to a Laptop or PC. BUT FROM THE FRONT KEYPAD! Someone asked my to order VHF with AES and unlocked Front Keypad Programming - So here we go..

The CPS that you download from Motorola NA will work without any issues as long as you are using version CPS 2.153.167.0 or newer. Radio has the FCC Sticker and factory tags with serial numbers, etc. Serial Numbers that are programmed into firmware in the Radio match the sticker on the back of the radio and also match the serial number printed on the sticker affixed to the outside of the Motorola Box. Radio has been tested and Codeplug configured with several sample Amateur Radio DMR Talk-Groups and Talk-Arounds in addition to several GMRS Repeater pairs and simplex frequencies for testing. This is just to give you an idea on how you may want to program your radio - if you already are familiar with Motorola CPS programming - feel free to use the factory default Codeplug saved on the enclosed USB Flash drive.

Firmware loaded is recent for the AS region - 2024 - and please note that Motorola does not release firmware as in the United States. They usually only update their firmware 1 time a year - where in the US it could be 2 times a year - because the US is always releasing different features or radios. The R7 was initially released in 2022 - and it is very stable.

When I receive the latest firmware, I will provide upon request. Features listed in the radio include. You will need at least CPS 2.153.167.0 to read and program these radios. NOT all features can be configured through the Front Panel Programming.

There are 100's of settings. You need a cable and computer with CPS for your initial setup. Then you can change frequency data and the above listed settings after the initial setup.

Some folks who have simple setups can just use the front panel to program in their frequency data, CTCSS/DCS, timeslots and color codes. If you are requesting an exception to this policy, please contact me / send me a message and we can try to work it out.
